Where the Kakobuy Spreadsheet keeps each category

A catalogue of product listings grouped by category, not a downloadable file. Each tile opens the current listings for that category; womenswear opens search results, while the other links open categories.

Search the catalogue

Sixteen ways into the catalogue

The categories cover clothing, footwear, bags, accessories and other goods. QC scope varies by item and sealed packaging; no category image establishes authenticity, condition or route acceptance. Fifteen tiles open a category; womenswear opens a search result instead, because the catalogue groups by product type rather than by who an item is cut for. The badge on each tile says which kind of page you are about to open.

A listing is a starting point, not a product page

What you get from a listing is a link, a title and a price that was true when the listing was written. The seller behind it can change the price by quantity, run out, or relist the same item under a new title. On 1688 in particular the operator's own rules note that price changes by quantity and that minimum order quantities apply, which is why a 1688 link sometimes costs more at checkout than the listing suggested.

Three ways to go from here to an order, in the operator's own step one: paste the product link, upload an image to search by picture, or search by keyword. The official tutorial names 1688, Taobao, Tmall and JD in its search example. This does not establish exhaustive index coverage or mean every other platform always requires manual entry. Try the actual product link; use Fill & Buy if it cannot be read, and check the applicable conditions before payment.

Searching in Chinese, using the operator's own word list

Chinese terms can help with listings written in Chinese, and the operator publishes a bilingual list for exactly this reason. It is a help-centre article rather than a tool, and it is one of the more useful pages on the site.

A few that come up constantly: hoodie is 卫衣, down jacket is 羽绒服, knitwear is 针织衫, leggings is 打底裤, crossbody bag is 斜挎包, bucket hat is 渔夫帽, and jeans is 牛仔裤. Note that 短裤 is shorts, which is the distinction that makes a jeans search return trousers rather than denim shorts.

Paste the Chinese term into the platform's own search, then bring the product link back. If a keyword returns nothing useful, the article tells you to ask support, which is a reasonable fallback for an item whose Chinese name is not obvious.

1688 listings follow different rules

1688 is a wholesale platform, and the operator publishes a separate rule sheet for it. Three things differ from Taobao. Unit price and shipping change with quantity, so the price you saw is tied to the quantity you saw. Minimum order quantities apply, and an order that does not meet them is not valid, which means cancelling and resubmitting rather than editing.

The third is the one worth remembering: the operator states it counts the number of boxes and does not guarantee the number of pieces inside each box. If the count inside is wrong, its role is to coordinate between you and the seller rather than to make it right. On a wholesale carton that is a meaningful difference from how a Taobao order behaves.

Reading a category page without wasting an evening

Sort by what you actually care about before you open twenty tabs. If the item is sized, the size chart lives on the seller's page and is in Chinese numbers more often than in EU or US sizes. If the item is heavy, check the weight before the price, because a 1 kg parcel and a 2 kg parcel to the same address can sit on different routes with different divisors.

The practical filter most people skip: whether the item will survive the inspection scope. A sealed box will not be opened, so for anything sealed the quality check tells you only that the box arrived intact.

The inspection scope decides what the photos can show you.
