The Kakobuy Spreadsheet quality check: what it covers and what it refuses

The inspection promise is one sentence long. The exclusions are three sentences long, and they decide what the photos can possibly show you.

The scope, as written

The operator will arrange inspection for a product's appearance: model, style and size. That is the whole promise, and it is article 89 of the help centre.

Then the exclusions. Anything that is not a garment, bag, suitcase or shoe gets an appearance check only. Anything in sealed packaging or with sealing strips is not opened. For household appliances, digital products and other electronics the inspection explicitly does not cover authenticity, function or quality. And the whole thing is stated to be subject to the seller's own flaw statement.

Read in order, the exclusions are larger than the promise. That is not a complaint about this operator, it is what an appearance check is. The mistake is assuming the photos answer a question they were never taking.

The operator's inspection rules article, listing the appearance-only scope and its three disclaimers
Inspection rules, read on 10 October 2026.

What this means for four common buys

A hoodie: check the ordered model, colour and size label; photographs still do not establish fit or durability.

A sealed fragrance box: not opened, so the check confirms the box.

A pair of earbuds: appearance only, with authenticity and function explicitly outside the scope.

A bag with a sealing strip: not opened either, for the same reason as the fragrance.

What does the free quality check actually cover?

Appearance only

model, style, size

How to check the QC photos you do get

Work in a fixed order so you do not get distracted by the first thing that looks wrong. Check the model and colourway against the listing images. Check the size label against the size you ordered, not against your usual size. Check stitching where panels meet, because that is where a rushed item shows first. Check hardware and zips for finish and alignment. Check the tags and any printed label for spelling and placement.

What you cannot check from photographs: anything that depends on wearing or powering the item. If that is the deciding factor, the photos will not decide it, and no amount of extra pictures changes that.

If something is wrong, the window is short. The retained eligible return and exchange window is 120 hours from Stocked in, subject to the seller, item and service conditions, and the cost formula is shipping to the seller plus shipping from the seller plus a service fee that rises with how many times you have used it that month.

Three photo services, and why people confuse them

Most arguments about photographs come from treating three separate services as one. They happen at different moments, cover different things, and only one of them has an unpublished count.

Delivery evidence and reporting channels

The operator's guidance is specific and most people read it after they needed it. Inspect the goods in front of the courier before signing. Check that the outer packaging and the seal are intact and that the weight is not obviously different from what you paid for. If something is wrong, note it on the receipt before signing, or refuse the delivery outright.

If you did not inspect in front of the courier and the parcel turns out to be damaged or short, keep the outer box including the sealing tape. That box is the evidence, and a claim without it is a claim about a parcel nobody can examine.

The signing guidance describes two actions: report to the local carrier within two days, and report loss or damage to Kakobuy support within 72 hours. These are different recipients and processes, not contradictory deadlines. Preserve the box, labels and sealing tape, take photographs and retain the carrier’s report. Follow both applicable processes promptly.

One sentence in the signing notice is worth reading twice: the retained signing notice treats normal receipt as the end of its delivery process. Preserve evidence promptly and follow the applicable reporting channels; this statement is not a complete account of any statutory rights.

The intake-photo count still needs confirmation

The included number of intake QC photographs is not established by the retained official material. This does not prove no account or support channel specifies it. The separate free parcel-photo service lists three views when selected before shipment; paid personalised photographs answer specific visual questions.

Ask support before buying an add-on. A number you cannot find is not a number you can plan around, and this is the clearest example on the whole site of a figure that other guides state confidently anyway.

Ask for the measurement that can change your decision

For a garment-width concern, identify the order and selected size, then ask for the item laid flat with the tape visible from one underarm seam to the other. State whether you need that flat width or a different dimension. Compare it with the same measurement on a garment you own, allowing for the seller’s stated tolerance.

A size label or a folded photograph cannot substitute for that measurement. If the photo hides the tape’s starting point, request clarification before treating the number as evidence. Keep the request, photo and stock-in time together so you can act within any applicable return window.

If your deciding question is durability, authenticity or electronic operation, another surface photo will not resolve it. Ask whether the required service exists before buying; compare service scope instead of paying repeatedly for pictures that cannot answer the question.
